Food contamination:

 

Food is contaminated when any such substance enters food that was not an ingredient or says was corrupt. It may happen in any process of the whole supply chain which consists of production, transportation, packaging, storage, trade, and cooking process. Food contamination can be of the following three types:

 

  1. Physical contamination

 

Any foreign particle or object is a source of physical contamination. For instance: hairs, nails, dirt.

 

  • Biological contamination

 

If food is contaminated by any element related to biological species, may it be human, animals, microorganisms it will be a biological contaminant. Like saliva, blood, fecal matter. 

 

  • Chemical contamination

 

Any natural or artificial chemical agent involves in this group. For example drugs, herbicides, food additives.
